Grey ceramic clay containing 40% thick chamotte 0-0.2 mm (up to 80 Mesh). Formulated for artistic ceramics, ideal for casting and modeling smooth pieces with fine details. High grog content ensures excellent behavior during drying and firing. Depending on the firing temperature, it develops an interesting range of greys from cement to dark grey, which meets the most avant-garde trends in artistic ceramics. Suitable for tableware (food safe) according to ISO 6486. Available in extruded body (moist form). Firing range*: 1200-1300ºC / Cone 5-10 Biscuit temperature: 1000ºC / Cone 06 Water content: 19% Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 16 Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0% Drying shrinkage: 5.7% Firing shrinkage at 1300ºC: 6.4% Porosity (water absorption) at 1300ºC: 0.1% Dry flexural strength: 2.9 N/mm2 Firing strength after firing at 1300ºC: 53.2 N/mm2 Thermal coefficient 1250ºC (25-500ºC): 60.1x10^-7ºC^-1 (*) Recommended for optimal clay performance in terms of both technical and safety characteristics under conventional firing conditions. Cooking range. Color samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a wider view, but these are parts cooked under controlled conditions. Self-supporting cones, normal-SSB and cone equivalent according to Orton table for heating rate of 150ºC/h.
