Black sculpting clay with 40% fine chamotte 0-0.5 mm (up to 35 mesh).
-
Formulated for artistic ceramics, ideal for sculpture.
-
The high content of grog ensures a beautiful textured surface and excellent behavior during drying and firing.
-
The beautiful and intense black firing color of the PRN range in an oxidizing atmosphere is very special and becomes an ideal average of artistic expression.
-
By reducing the atmosphere, metallic effects are obtained with blue tones.

Recommendations for use with glazes
Use zinc-free (ZN-free) glazes to avoid unexpected reactions such as bubbling or color changes.
-
Other elements that can react are zirconium (ZR) and TIN (SN). We recommend consulting your regular glaze supplier to ensure proper compatibility with this ceramic clay body.
-
-
Do not use glazes with a low thermal expansion coefficient (A25-300ºC <60x10-7ºC-1).
PRN clay, fired at high temperatures, has a high thermal expansion coefficient in the range of 100 to 200ºC, which causes stresses between the glaze and the backing, mainly in pieces glazed only on one side, which can cause cracking during cooling in the kiln or later (e.g., when pouring hot water into it).
Consult your regular glaze supplier to ensure you use glazes with a medium to high thermal expansion coefficient (A25-300ºC> 60x10-7ºC-1).
