SW-220 BLACK TIMBER

Black Timber is a satin-like, opaque, speckled brown glaze with a deteriorating texture.
It contains bright brown crystals.

The base color is stable; crystals may exhibit fluidity.

Always test fire with your own clay and kiln.

Cone 6 oxidation (larger image): Opal Lustre is a bright, semi-opaque glaze showing mottled shades of blue, green, and purple. It breaks up the warm brown on the texture.

Cone 10 reduction (smaller image): The color flattens and warm undertones emerge.

TIP: This glaze is semi-fluid in 3 coats. Additional coats or increased application thickness may cause movement. It can be used in oxidation or reduction fires. Results may vary. Clay body selection, application thickness, firing process, and temperature will greatly affect firing results. Always test your application on your clay body in your kiln environment.
